Profile
Jonathan Hunt removes the noise and helps clients matter better decisions. Drawn to wealth management and being a financial advisor early in life, he focuses on business owners and the high-net-worth family niche.
He says, “I can provide the most value helping them connect the dots between their business, their investments, and their long-term goals.”
Viewing his core responsibility as helping clients stay focused on what truly matters, Hunt simplifies complex situations, enabling clients to make better, more confident choices with a disciplined focus on the big picture.
“A big part of my role is bringing things back to what actually matters. I try to simplify things as much as possible, keep clients focused on the long term, and make sure every decision ties back to their overall plan,” he comments.

Milestones
What further sets Hunt apart is how he integrates investments with tax planning, succession, and exit strategy. As a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), he works closely with entrepreneurs to map out how they will eventually step away from their businesses and what that means financially. This deeper level of planning is especially valuable for business owners, whose financial lives are tightly linked to their companies.
Hunt explains, “It starts with setting the right expectations around the role of investing. We focus on long-term results, not short-term predictions.”
Being proactive and
accessible, Hunt takes the time to explain how portfolios are structured, why specific strategies are used and how everything connects back. For Hunt, success is personal.
“It could mean helping a business owner maximize the value of their company or just giving someone confidence that they’re on the right track. Performance matters, but it’s really about the overall outcome and the relationship.”
Stepping into a leadership role within a multigenerational practice has been a pivotal step for Hunt. Taking over from his father, Dennis, and growing an established business carries both responsibility and opportunity. Earning the Desjardins Award for Rising Star Advisor of the Year in 2025 underscored the strength of this foundation and the momentum of his career, reflecting both technical capability and vision for the future.
Hunt understands what appeals about his way of working. “It’s the combination of being strategic but also very relationship driven. Clients want strong advice, but they also want to feel understood and supported. I focus a lot on making sure clients are clear on what we’re doing and why, while also thinking a few steps ahead for them,” he says.
This balance of foresight and empathy has been instrumental in building long‑term trust. Hunt views wealth management as a relationship business built over decades. This mindset shows up in his commitment to continuous improvement – whether through ongoing education, refining processes, or elevating the client experience. He adds, “I’m competitive with myself more than anything, and I want to keep raising the standard of what we deliver.”
