Capturing a Wealth Professional 5-Star Advisor award is a major achievement, but winning three in a row is something truly special. Displaying extraordinary consistency in his performance, David Poliquin is on the podium for the third year running.
Passionate about the financial market from a young age, he is determined to make a difference in people’s lives by using his creativity, drive, and ambition to find new and optimal solutions for each client.
Since joining BGY Wealth Management with iA Private Wealth in 2009, Poliquin has managed to build one of the largest wealth management teams of professionals in Canada.
“I am very proud of my team’s level of expertise and being able to instil the firm’s core values of creativity, integrity, and rigour in everything they do,” he says.
Poliquin and his team have created over 50 in-house software programs, allowing them to target clients with over $1.5 million in AUM throughout Canada.
He is proactive, and takes the lead in managing optimization opportunities, while performing frequent follow-ups with clients and their own professionals. In situations of significant volatility, he disseminates simple and informative emails to reassure clients.
His transparency with clients ensures that they understand every risk being taken with their portfolio, constantly involving them in the decision-making process.

We communicate with our clientele on a regular basis to let them know exactly what is going on in the market and to compare how their portfolios are doing. With a 99 percent client retention rate, I commend my team for doing so well,” he explains.

Colleagues acknowledge him as one of the main drivers of the brokerage’s shift, and, in addition to being its top commercial salesperson, he also serves as an invaluable mentor to new teammates, using his extensive experience and knowledge to help others with their sales pitches and presentations.
“While in the broker channel, I had the privilege of working alongside former Rising Star winners Nick Rizzuto and Adam Mitchell, CEO of Mitch Insurance,” says Manson. “My focus has always been on deepening my industry knowledge and delivering tailored solutions to my clients rather than seeking the spotlight.”
IBC recognized Manson as a Rising Star of 2024 for his significant achievements and influence in positively impacting the industry.
Since joining the IBADR, Manson has helped increase the affiliate’s exposure, raise awareness about its work, and boost event attendance through new social outings and RIBO-accredited courses. These efforts have helped increase membership and the charitable donations raised by the IBADR.
Manson is passionate about sharing his experience and knowledge to help educate others and raise awareness of industry issues. He strives to offer unique perspectives on how the industry can evolve, grow, and enhance its products and services.
With a solid commitment to continuous learning, he has earned his CIP, passed the RIBO technical exam, and completed risk management courses in the US.
Manson plans to keep using his voice to help the industry advance.
