Since it launched nearly two decades ago, Infinite Investment Systems has been providing technology to Canadian investment managers with its flagship application, Harmony. At the time, its founders sought to elevate a crucial piece of wealth managers’ value proposition: portfolio management rooted in data that could be relied upon.
“We started this company in 2004,” says Ali Zahedi, the firm’s co-founder and chief executive officer. “Both myself and my partner had experience in the industry, so we knew that there was a need to build a portfolio management system that was not only comprehensive but fully integrated as well.”
Zahedi says the portfolio management systems available back then were modular, providing solutions to portfolio management in a fragmented, piecemeal way. He and co-founder Ahmad Joulaie realized that by building an integrated solution with all the different modules required for portfolio management, they could bring a great, viable product to the market. That led to the development of Harmony, a comprehensive portfolio management system that until now, serves as the firm’s flagship product.
From its infancy to its current state, the platform continues to earn praise from users across the country, as it has evolved to keep up with wealth firms’ growing needs. Harmony has enabled more than 85 firms across Canada to successfully grow and scale their businesses by offering a comprehensive suite of functionality, which helps to streamline operations and administration.
“When we first started, the concern around integration was just for the different modules within the portfolio management system,” Zahedi says. “Now, the challenge of integration applies to all the different systems involved in managing wealth.”

“We target wealth managers and Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) that are looking for ways to differentiate in their offering and cater to a growing number of high-net-worth individuals who are looking for alternative investment vehicles, such as private equity investment,” says Collins.
Charli Capital’s leadership team has worked together in prior successful AI startups and understand what it takes to build a high-tech business. Collins also has experience of prior successful exits allowing for clear guidance on product strategy and go-to-market, as well as anticipation and navigation of challenges as the business scales.
An outstanding element of Charli Capital’s tech is that it enables customers to access insights otherwise inaccessible to most investors for both private and public companies.
“There has also been a determined approach to leverage automation as much as possible to significantly reduce overhead and eliminate ‘burnout’ for our customers and their employees,” explains Collins. “This has resulted in productivity gains far greater than 80 percent and allowed our customers to grow their business by handling a greater number of clients, client portfolios, and assets under management.”
Naturally for a dynamic firm, Charli Capital is focused on the future. There are plans to launch a next generation AI platform that can facilitate the intelligent matchmaking of private investors and promising private companies.
Collins adds, “The team moves fast – extraordinarily fast – and is disciplined to ensure that it doesn’t drop the ball, is prepared for future advancements, and embraces an eyes-wide-open fail-fast mentality for learning.”
