“No matter how many clients I have, I make sure to call each one personally every quarter. It’s a chance to not only update them on their portfolio, but also check on how they’re doing personally”
Kelvin Rampersad,
Carte Wealth Management
Upon graduating from Carleton University in 2017, Christian Battistelli originally wanted to go into business consulting before changing direction.
At Carleton, he met the love of his life, his wife Rachael, and through her, he discovered his second love. Working at his mother-in-law Sandy Page’s financial planning firm lit a fire in him.
“After running my first client meeting, it was clear that we could have a massive positive impact on people’s lives. After that, I really couldn’t see myself doing anything else but what I’m doing now.”
From there, he began a journey to becoming a certified financial planner (CFP) and was named to the CFP Exam President’s List with the second-highest score in Canada. In 2017, he became an associate financial planner before moving on to a financial planner four years later.
In August 2024, he took up a senior wealth advisor role within Unified Advisory Group, Assante Financial Management. His approach is rooted in the desire to have a meaningful and positive impact on the entire financial services industry.
“I see my work as more than just a job, it’s a calling. I’m fortunate to be in a position where I can help others achieve their financial goals, and I take that responsibility seriously. Whether it’s through offering sound advice, supporting my team, or contributing to the broader industry, I strive to make a lasting difference in everything I do,” he says.
“I once had a client tell me I saved their marriage. To have that kind of impact on someone is something I’ll never forget.”
In a fast-paced world, Battistelli aims to keep that advice as client-focused as possible.
He explains, “With so much data, spreadsheets, and projections, it’s easy to focus solely on the numbers. It’s crucial to remember that we’re dealing with people first and numbers second. We tailor our client conversations to focus on what matters and is relevant to them.”
Despite that, Battistelli’s use of technology with that human focus has propelled him to success.
“Being tech-savvy has been a significant advantage, enabling me to leverage the latest tools and platforms to deliver innovative solutions for clients as well as make connections with many successful advisors who are looking to do the same,” he says.
All that combined with curiosity make a successful advisor.
“It drives me to constantly seek knowledge, whether it’s about the latest financial tools and strategies or the personal goals and challenges my clients face. It pushes me to ask the right questions, dig deeper, and continuously learn, ensuring that I’m always prepared to offer advice that’s both technically sound and personally relevant.”
Being named a Wealth Professional Top 40 Under 40 Rising Star affirms that Battistelli is on the right track to having an impact on a greater number of people.
