Mustafa Bukhari of Skyline Group of Companies not only demonstrates this industry expertise—particularly in Canadian private alternative investments—but also stands out among his industry peers for his exceptional leadership of Skyline’s Relationship Management and Institutional Sales team.
Bukhari embodies Skyline Group of Companies’ vision to provide meaningful value and an exceptional experience to every client through his leadership of the Relationship Management team. With more than 12 years' experience in financial services, he leads his team in delivering an exceptional client experience while sourcing new business opportunities to further expand Skyline’s investor base across Canada—nearly 6,000-strong in 2024.
Bukhari also steers Skyline’s Institutional Sales team, growing market share in the broker/dealer network. He and his team offer portfolio managers and retail investors a suite of private alternative investments in real estate and clean energy: Skyline Apartment REIT, Skyline Industrial REIT, Skyline Retail REIT, and Skyline Clean Energy Fund.
Bukhari’s achievements were recently highlighted in Wealth Professional’s Top 40 Under 40 Rising Stars for 2024.

A University of Western Ontario alumnus, Bukhari holds a Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies, with a Specialization in Finance. His original career ambitions included becoming a financial advisor, building a book, and then transitioning to a full-service wealth management firm as a portfolio manager. Early on, however, he realized that his skill set was more geared toward sales leadership and he made a career pivot.
This early experience equipped Bukhari with a portfolio management mindset, giving him a unique and client-centric viewpoint as a sales leader. As portfolio managers aim to secure the best investments for their client books, Bukhari and his team strive to expand Skyline’s investor reach and stand out among Canada’s alternative investment dealers.
“It boils down to being helpful,” he says. “My vision is simply to help Canadians become financially better off.”
Bukhari has a proven track record of elevating team performance across several distribution channels, including banks, online brokerages, and wealth management firms. As Skyline’s business continues to grow, his commitment to excellence — and his competitive nature — keep him at the forefront of the industry.
“I like to draw parallels between the sporting world and my career,” he says. “I started off trying to be the best individual contributor, make the all-star team, transition into a player/coach, and now leader/management.”
Bukhari also takes part in community outreach initiatives, aligning with Skyline’s commitment to social sustainability. He is a long-term sponsor of the Because I Am a Girl campaign with Plan Canada, which aims to help underprivileged girls build brighter futures and realize their potential. He is also an active participant in sports-related annual charity fundraisers such as Breakthrough T1D (formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or JDRF) and the Canadian Cancer Society.
Bukhari is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys teaching his two daughters golf, tennis, and cricket. He names his wife as his number one supporter.

Bukhari started as a sales professional with his first job as a door-to-door salesperson for Toronto Star subscriptions. After that, he worked in the retail and service industries.

Bukhari was drawn into the investment world as a university student during the 2008 financial crisis. He wanted to better understand the factors that led to the crisis and how it impacted people’s personal finances.

Bukhari took on roles that allowed him to learn about the various investment product offerings in Canada early in his career. He also obtained industry certificates and designations to gain a more holistic understanding of the Canadian investment landscape.

Bukhari has worked in various distribution channels in wealth management, such as online brokerages, contact centers, and branch channels. He has also held roles as an individual contributor, regional influencer, and national leader, allowing him to hone his sales coaching, training, and recruitment skills. He now leads a team of 13 Relationship Managers, offering a suite of private alternative investments and providing an exceptional experience to every investor.
