Simone Reitzes is the managing director of the Medicus Pension PlanTM, a pioneering initiative that has reshaped Canada’s retirement income landscape for physicians.
With two decades of leadership experience in pensions, Reitzes played a central role in establishing Medicus, which now serves a growing community of physicians across the country. She oversees all aspects of the plan and ensures it remains responsive to the needs of its members.
“It’s an honour to help shape the future of Canada’s financial industry through innovative pension solutions,” she says. “Leading the Medicus Pension Plan allows me to contribute to a more inclusive, forward-thinking financial landscape that reflects the evolving needs of physicians across the country.”
Reitzes’ leadership approach is anchored in empathy and a deep commitment to empowering others. She strives to foster an environment where individuals, especially emerging female professionals, feel confident, valued, and motivated to lead with courage.
“By encouraging bold thinking and embracing the unknown, I hope to serve as a role model and catalyst for other women, and men, who are shaping the future of our industry,” she says.
Reitzes holds a Bachelor of Mathematics in Actuarial Science from the University of Waterloo and a Strategic Analytics Certificate from Queen’s University’s Smith School of Business. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries, and a former member of the CD Howe Institute’s Pension Policy Council.
